Commission Drawings

I am accepting commissions for animal portraits and would be honored to draw your pet whether it’s a dog, cat, bird or farm animal. When drawing your pet I like to receive multiple photos so I can be sure to capture the spirit and characteristics of your pet.

If you have an idea for a commissioned piece for something that isn’t a pet such as any photographs you’ve taken of wildlife that you would like a custom drawing of, let me know. Reach out today to get the process started!

Email me with your request for a pet portrait.
Consult + Agreement

When I contact you, we will work out the details of portrait size, time frame, etc. and I will answer any questions you have. We will work together to select the best pose and details for a successful drawing. To send photos use the following email: kathi@kathisherrill.art.. Send as many as you like.
Time to Draw!

You will be notified when the drawing is started. Also I like to send a few additional notifications with photo’s of the drawing in progress.
Shipping

When the drawing is complete, shipping will be added to the balance for final payment. After payment is received I will ship. Your drawing will include an archival mat and acid free backing and will be ready for you to have framed.

Custom Pencil Drawings Pricing

8 x 10 portrait size will fit an 11 x 14 frame -- $400
9 x 12 portrait size will fit a 12 x 16 frame -- $450
11 x 14 portrait size will fit a 16 x 20 frame — $500

The above prices are for a single animal with no background. Portrait sizes are approximate. Larger sizes and prices are quoted upon review of the furnished photographs. Shipping is added to the final payment. Framing not included.

FAQs

I will need high quality digital photos of your pet. Good photos are key to a quality portrait. The following criteria are recommended: close to the pet, good light, eyes open and color clearly seen, in focus, nose texture seen and not distorted. If the portrait is a memorial and the photos you have are not great, I will do my very best. It is not ideal however, I have successfully completed many memorial drawings.
Drawings are completed with high quality, light fast colored pencils and Stathmore, Clairfontaine Pastel Mat or Cold Press papers. Prices include acid free museum matting and backing. Once received, the artwork is ready for framing.
I am open to drawing all animals: dogs, cats, horses, birds, pigs, etc. I would love to draw your pet.
Yes, I require a $100 deposit to start your drawing.
